How the Blade Lock attaches to the Spring and the Blade:

The two ends of the spring slips into the two holes in the Blade Lock then the hook on the front of the Blade Lock attaches to the front of the blade

The Replacement Blade Lock (Latch) is the rectangular metal frame that must be depressed when removing and applying blades.
